Newberry Sub Shop
Before a trip through Pennsylvania, a friend asked me to stop in Williamsport to pick up some subs. Not one or two subs, mind you, but over a half dozen. He wanted to share them with friends. I honored his request and soon learned that Newberry Sub Shop has earned such devotion.
The Old Ebbitt Grill
The Old Ebbitt Grill is an iconic Washington DC restaurant, situated right across the street from the White House. I've been meaning to go there for awhile now, and a visit from some relatives provided the opportunity to do so. We quickly found out that the Old Ebbitt Grill lives up to its hype.

The past few years I have been visiting all the dairies on the Maryland Ice Cream Trail. The trail, a promotion by Maryland's Depart of Agriculture, highlights family run dairy farms in the State. With Deliteful Dairy in Williamsport Maryland, I have been to them all.
Stam’s Soda Fountain
I was in Chestertown, Maryland for their yearly "Tea Party" festival. On the main street in town, I found an interestingly looking old fashioned ice cream parlor. After a few hours of festive going, I returned. Turns out, Stam's serves fabulous home made ice cream.
Hinode Japanese Restaurant
A popular Japanese restaurant in Rockville Maryland closed this month, I had never been to the restaurant before, but I decided to go while I could. I quickly found out why Hinode Japanese Restaurant was such a beloved restaurant. It was top notch.
Big Bear Cafe
I was in Washington DC on an errand and noted an interesting looking cafe at the corner of R Street and 1st Street NW. I returned there later to have lunch. I am glad I did as the Big Bear Cafe, with terrific atmosphere and great food, is now my favorite brunch spot.
Riviera Tapas Bar
A friend of mine was recommending new restaurants that he had found. One was a place in downtown Riverdale that serves in Spanish tapas. Soon after hearing this, I dined there. I liked it so much that I've come back to Riviera Tapas Bar again and again.

The cherry blossoms were blooming in Washington DC and many restaurants were having themed offerings. Looking over the options, one place stood out from the rest. A wine bar on H Street called irregardless. Did it meet my expectations? It exceeded them.
Baltimore’s Lexington Market
Public markets are common in Europe, but are rarer in the United States. But many older cities have them. Washington DC has Eastern Market. Buffalo has the Broadway Market. And Baltimore has Lexington Market. For awhile now, I have been meaning to visit the Lexington Market. When it recently reopened in a brand new building, I decided the time was now.
