Supra, my favorite restaurant in Washington DC, regularly arranges trips to the Eastern European country of Georgia, whose cuisine inspired the restaurant. This past fall, I went on one of these trips. It was a whirlwind of a tour; we traveled throughout the country and sampled each regions food and wine.
I recently spent some time in Copenhagen. The restaurant scene there is quite dynamic and diverse. Incredibly, the city has 28 Michelin starred restaurants. Even without going to any of those, there are plenty of other places to dine and have both Danish food and some of the finest international cuisine.
On a recent trip, I had a stopover in London. Looking for a place to eat, I settled on Borough Market. At the market I found over a dozen places serving food, all looking fantastic.
Mythic, exotic Budapest. The capital of Hungary evokes both the glamour of 19th century Europe and the darkness of the cold war. In the 21st century, it is a great place to visit and a great place to dine.
In the past few decades, Oslo has become one of the great capitols of Europe. Here is a small sampling of the dynamic and eclectic food scene there.
