Ben's Chili Bowl is the most iconic of all the restaurants in DC. So when it reopened after 10 months of remodeling, it is news. So much so that the mayor DC proclaimed the reopening day, May 1st, as Ben's Chili Bowl Day.

During Washington DC's restaurant week I like to try new restaurants. In the U Street Corridor, a Peruvian restaurant that I was not familiar with was participating. After taking a peek at their menu online, I decided to go there. Having one of the best meals I've ever had, I immediately fell in love with El Secreto de Rosita.

Ben's Chili Bowl is the most iconic of all restaurants in Washington DC. If you have not been there, you have not eaten in DC. It has been a fixture on U Street since the 1950s.
