I was meeting a relative for breakfast and was looking for a good place to eat.  Near Niagara Falls, in the town of Wheatfield, New York I found the perfect spot. A baseball themed diner that serves terrific food: The Club House.

Wheatfield, New York is a small town directly east of the city of Niagara Falls. The Club House is located about 10 miles from downtown Niagara Falls, right on Niagara Falls Boulevard.  Owned by North Tonawanda native Todd Brosius, it has been in business for at least a dozen years.

Breakfast

Club House’s menu has all the standard breakfast items: eggs, pancakes, waffles, and omelets. It also has an interesting array of breakfast sandwiches: Polish Scramble (scrambled eggs with Polish sausage), The Stallone (eggs, peppers, and pepperoni) , The Western (eggs, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and ham), Ham Steak, and The All American (eggs with cheese). 

Sides include toast, English muffins, bagels, bacon, sausage, and oatmeal. The lunch menu has burgers, BLT sandwiches, and Grilled Cheese sandwiches, but those are not available for breakfast. I have heard from a close friend that the burgers are quite good.

I was looking for something hearty and decided on the Sausage Gravy Biscuits. And hearty it was. It comes in large bowl, filled to the brim with a thick, delicious gravy. And there was plenty of sausage. In addition to the sausage rounds visible on top, they gravy itself had chunks of meaty sausage throughout. The biscuits were home made and freshly grilled. They were not especially large or flaky, but were rich and buttery, Delicious! 

My companion had the Eggs Benedict, ordered without the Canadian bacon. The eggs were poached to perfection, having a good amount of running yolk to mix with the sauce. The Hollandaise sauce did not have much of a tang, but was of a good consistency. Overall, a respectable Eggs Benedict. The Benedict, like many of the breakfast items, is served with home fries. These fries tasted freshly grilled and were seasoned with onions and spices. I liked the taste very much.

Atmosphere

The Club House has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was quite accommodating and pleasant to converse with. And even though we arrived mid-morning, there were plenty of customers there and more kept on coming in. It is a popular restaurant. For good food and great atmosphere, The Club House is now on my list of places to dine.
