I was on a road trip looking for a place to eat. I decided to take the exit right before the Maryland line with Pennsylvania, on Interstate 83. I quickly found on York Road a bar and grill that turned out to be first rate: the StoneBridge Grille.
I know very little about the history of StoneBridge Grille. It opened in March 2015 on the site of the historic Maryland Line Inn. The Inn was also a restaurant and had been in business for almost 70 years.
The StoneBridge name comes from a nearby bridge, the Parkton Stone Arch Bridge, that dates back to 1809. Built as part of the Baltimore and York Turnpike, it is the oldest bridge in Maryland. Images of the bridge can be found throughout the restaurant.
Menu
I was there during lunch time and only saw that menu; there is a separate dinner menu. StoneBridge Grille has a fairly typical pub menu with appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches and burgers. Some noteworthy appetizers are Crab Dip, Flash Fried Calamari, and Fried Green Tomatoes. Soups include Maryland Crab and Poblano Chili. There are 8 salads, including Club House Wedge and Thai Chicken. And over a dozen sandwiches; highlights are: Cuban, Fried Oyster Po’ Boy, and Firecracker Shrimp Tacos. The burger choices include a Maryland Burger. On top of that burger is: Crab Cake, ham, and fried green tomatoes. The menu has strong Maryland and southern influences.
My meal
One of the sandwiches caught my eye: the StoneBrueben. It is a Reuben made with brisket instead of corn beef. Wanting some vegetables, I ordered a side Caesar. (There was only one other side salad listed on the menu, so I assumed the est of the salads do not have side portions.)

The meat in the Brueben seemed more like a thin steak than a brisket, but it was tender and juicy. The cheese, pickled veggetables, and garlic Aioli on top made the sandwich divine. The salad was full of fresh Romaine, covered with a house made dressing, and topped with a generous amount of both cheese and croutons. It was great.
Dessert
The StoneBridge Grill makes all the desserts in house. There was not a printed menu, so my waitress listed them. I think there was more, but they included: Chocolate Lava Cake, Key Lime Pie, Red Velvet Cheesecake, Layered Mousse Cake, and Bread Pudding.
I asked for a recommendation; the waitress replied that the Red Velvet Cheesecake was her favorite, so I ordered that. I would describe It as a rich Red Velvet cake with thick layers of cream cheese frosting. I’ll also note that the whipped cream was freshly made! It was great!
Atmosphere
I arrived during the lunch hour and seated myself. The waitress was busy serving another table, but as soon as she was finished she dropped off a menu. From that point on, service was stellar. She immediately noticed when I was ready to order, came over, and took it. My order quickly came out. And she regularly refilled my water without having to be asked. On top of all that, she gave out great recommendations.

Every aspect of the service was superb. In the restaurant section where I was, there were not many other tables occupied. The bar section was much more crowded. It seemed like there were a lot of regulars. Certainly, I would go back whenever I am in the area.
