One of the most popular breakfast spots in the Buffalo region can be found in the town of North Tonawanda. Located in the heart of the city, Figmor Cafe & Eatery serves all the classics in comfort and style.
Figmor (“Finally I Got My Own Restaurant”) is the creation of Joey Rigler. Before opening Figmor, Joey had 16 years of experience in the restaurant business. After getting a business degree, he was actually planning on leaving the Buffalo area when a space on Webster street opened up. With the help of a grant from Lumber City Development, Joey opened Figmor to wide acclaim. Since it opened in late 2023, the restaurant has become quite popular. Popular enough to be featured in the YouTube series America’s Best Restaurants.
Menu
The heart of Figmor’s menu is breakfast items. These include over a dozen egg options (The Classics and Skillets), “Waffles, Pancakes, & French Toast”, a selection of ten Omelets, Small Plates (bagels, toast, and Breakfast Tater Tots), and Joey’s Bennys (Eggs Benedict). Non-breakfast options are: Soup & Salad, Lunch (melts, BLT, burger, or chicken), and Specialty Sandwiches. There is also a kids section called Landon’s Menu.
Our Meal
I decided on one of the Eggs Benedict, Stuffed Banana Pepper Benny, while my companion ordered Erin’s Stuffed French Toast. Both were excellent. The Stuffed Banana Pepper Benny is an Eggs Benedict with the bacon replaced by stuffed peppers. The eggs were cooked to perfection, runny with plenty of liquid yolk. The hollandaise sauce was creamy with just a hint of lemony tang.

The stuffed peppers were a great addition. I especially liked the filling, which was cheesy and flavorful. It had some sausage in it, although I could have used a little more (which you can order at extra cost). The Benedict came with a side of Home Fries. While not as crispy as I would of liked, the potatoes were fresh and well seasoned. As an added bonus, they were served with peppers and onions. My companion loved her French Toast. She like the texture and said it had a nice bite. There was plenty of filling. It was sweet, but not overbearingly so.
We were there on a cold winter day and I was interested in a hot beverage. Not being a coffee drinker, I was happy to find Hot Chocolate among the drinks on the menu. I could not resist. It had a good chocolate taste. And with plenty of freshly made whipped cream on top, it had just the right amount of sweetness.
Atmosphere
We arrived relatively early and were quickly seated in the back room. Figmor has a fair amount of seating, but the place is popular. By the end of our meal it was packed. That did not hamper the service, however. Our orders were promptly taken. The drinks came out immediately, and the food not long after (about 10 minutes). The ambience is bright and cheery; the decorations are eclectic. These include paintings of the Golden Girls (a bit of decor that the restaurant is famous for). It’s a fun place with great food. I definitely would go back.
