Overwinter Coffee
On a cold winter day, I was in the mood for some hot chocolate. A quick web search pointed me to a nearby ice cream parlor. When I arrived, I found out that they had hot chocolate flavored ice cream, but not the beverage itself. The clerk recommended a coffee shop a block away. I can't comment on their coffee, but Overwinter Coffee has fabulous hot chocolate.
Night and Day Coffee Cafe
Driving through northern Pennsylvania, I was looking for a place to eat lunch. On the main street in Mansfield, I saw a coffee shop that looked a little bland on the outside. I decided to peek inside. As soon as I walked in, I knew Night and Day Coffee Cafe was the right place.
Big Bear Cafe
I was in Washington DC on an errand and noted an interesting looking cafe at the corner of R Street and 1st Street NW. I returned there later to have lunch. I am glad I did as the Big Bear Cafe, with terrific atmosphere and great food, is now my favorite brunch spot.

Several years ago I was in Sykesville MD, eating at one of my favorite ice cream parlors, when a local recommended a crepe restaurant around the corner. Recently I was in the area when it was open. So of course I had to try them out. It was a great recommendation, as the French Twist Cafe is a delight!
Market Street in Corning NY
Market Street in Corning, New York is a lovely little downtown area with lots of neat shops and restaurants. Recently, they have shut down the street to traffic, making it a pedestrian only area. I think the result is great; a perfect place to dine.
