I was looking for some ice cream after an outing in Akron, New York. A quick search turned up Sprinkles Creamery in nearby Corfu. A rustic little ice cream stand located in the middle of the New York countryside, Sprinkles has great ice cream, unique confections, and a great view.
I first stopped at Brookland Pint on a Friday evening last winter, looking for a place to eat that was still open and was not too far out of my way. Located right next to the Catholic University metro stop, Brookland Pint fit the bill. I liked it so much that I've come back again and again.
I was in Mt Pleasant heading towards a festival when I happened across Mt Desert Island Ice Cream that appeared quite popular. I made note of it and returned after the festival. A sign proudly declares "Fearless Flavor." Mt Desert takes that seriously, as they have flavors that can be found nowhere else. I now have a new favorite ice cream shop.
In the downtown area of Silver Spring Maryland, Fenton Cafe has been serving fantastic crepes for over a decade. I don't get there often enough, but when I do the food is always fantastic.
