This summer an ice cream food truck started appearing at the College Park Farmers Market. Featuring home made, small batch ice cream, Lickity Split has quickly become one of my favorite ice creams.
Skipjack’s Crab House
On a recent Friday evening I was in Baltimore for an event, but it got canceled because of a thunderstorm. Needing someplace to eat, I started searching. Eventually I found Skipjack's Restaurant and Sport's Bar in northern Baltimore. They have the best crab cakes I've ever had.
Mandalay Reopens
One of my favorite restaurants, Mandalay Restaurant had closed during COVID. But this past week, it reopened for business. For now, they just have take out. Except for Aug 13-14, when there were special lunch and dinner buffets. I went to the very first seating.
Mi Vida
Mi Vida has been on my list of restaurants to try ever since the Mexican Ambassador said it was her favorite restaurant in Washington DC. Recently I was in the Waterfront area and took the opportunity to try the place. Mi Vida is as good as the ambassador said.

I was in Frederick Maryland running errands and I needed to eat lunch. I happened across a first class Sushi restaurant: Miyako Japanese Steak & Seafood.
Bandoola Bowl
One of my favorite places to dine, Mandalay Restaurant, has a related eatery in Georgetown. I was in the area recently for a festival and made it a point to try it out. Bandoola Bowl lives up to their reputation.
French Twist Cafe
Several years ago I was in Sykesville MD, eating at one of my favorite ice cream parlors, when a local recommended a crepe restaurant around the corner. Recently I was in the area when it was open. So of course I had to try them out. It was a great recommendation, as the French Twist Cafe is a delight!
Bistro 93
On a mild summer evening I was looking for a restaurant with outdoor seating to have a relaxing dinner. In Akron, NY at the pleasant little Bistro 93 I found the perfect place.
Sprinkles Creamery
I was looking for some ice cream after an outing in Akron, New York. A quick search turned up Sprinkles Creamery in nearby Corfu. A rustic little ice cream stand located in the middle of the New York countryside, Sprinkles has great ice cream, unique confections, and a great view.
Brookland Pint
I first stopped at Brookland Pint on a Friday evening last winter, looking for a place to eat that was still open and was not too far out of my way. Located right next to the Catholic University metro stop, Brookland Pint fit the bill. I liked it so much that I've come back again and again.
