Every 17 years, millions of Cicada emerge from the ground in order to reproduce. 2021 is one of those years they appear. Where I live, these little insects are everywhere. Supra and Tabla: Georgian in DC
Georgian food is one of the more unusual types of cuisines that you can find in DC. Not from the state of Georgia, mind you. Georgia the Eastern European country. Supra has been a main stay of DC for years. But recently the owners managed to open a second restaurant, Tabla. Both serve superb food.
Market Street in Corning NY
Market Street in Corning, New York is a lovely little downtown area with lots of neat shops and restaurants. Recently, they have shut down the street to traffic, making it a pedestrian only area. I think the result is great; a perfect place to dine.
Elephant & Castle DC
I was in the mood for some British pub food. After some searching I found an authentic looking one right in the heart of DC: Elephant & Castle. So that is where I went. I am glad I did.
2 Fifty BBQ
Texas style barbecue is hard to get in the Washington DC metro area. While there are a couple of places, it's hard to find one my friends from Texas consider authentic. Enter 2 Fifty BBQ, in Riverdale, MD. They not only do Texas style BBQ, they do it well.

Half-Smoke
I recently discovered a great casual restaurant in Washington DC that not only has managed to survive the pandemic, but is expanding to new locations. While new to me, Half-Smoke has been in the Shaw neighborhood of DC since 2016. Not only do they have a great selection of meats, but great cocktails and appetizers as well.
