Buffalo is home to several gourmet hot dog restaurants. But there is one that stands out above the rest. After hearing about it for years, I have finally treated myself to Frank Gourmet Hot Dogs.

French Pub
After doing some Christmas caroling, my friends and I had lunch at French Pub together, a favorite restaurant of one of the group. French Pub is a sports bar in the suburbs of Buffalo that my friend has been going to since the 90s. When asked for a dish recommendation, he said everything on the menu. If Buffalo is known for one thing (other than snow and the Bills), it is chicken wings. There are many places throughout the city where you can get good wings. Truly great wings, on the other hand, is much harder to find. Hidden away in a Knights of Columbus hall in Kenmore, you will find a place that serves the best.

After several disappointments in the poutine I had been served at various restaurants, I was looking for a restaurant that served the authentic stuff. Allen St. Poutine, on Allen Street in Buffalo, did not disappoint.
Hoover’s Dairy
Some of the best places to get ice cream are at dairy farms. Hoovers Dairy, located in rural Western New York is one such place.
